Doing good deeds according to one's own capabilities
Library Services
The Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Library was established in 2009 in Muktarpur village with the aim of cultivating reading habits among local students and the public, fostering interest in education among young children through joyful reading, and preventing dropouts among poor, helpless, and meritorious students. The library offers textbooks alongside daily newspapers, storybooks, magazines, and other reading materials. In addition to providing reading facilities, the library organizes debates and essay competitions on contemporary issues.
Healthcare Services
Since its inception, the Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Library has been working to ensure healthcare services for the poor and helpless people alongside its library services. To provide immediate primary healthcare, a health service centre has been established in a section of the library building, known as the Haji Abdul Jalil Health Care Center. The center remains open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM every day except Friday. Based on public demand, the health service center arranges specialist doctors and conducts special health service camps and satellite/mobile clinics at various times.
Sufia Khatun Scholarship
The Sufia Khatun Scholarship was launched in 2022 under the Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Library to foster creative and skilled human resources. Initially, all schools and madrasas in Dhuliani Union of Chougachha Upazila, Jashore district, were included in this program. The scholarship program plans to implement various activities to create future employment opportunities for all scholarship recipients alongside their studies. Additionally, the foundation provides financial assistance, food items, and free medical services to the families of scholarship recipients at various times. From 2022 to 2025, 200 students from schools and madrasas in Dhuliani, Pashapol, and Singhjhuli Unions of Chougachha Upazila, Jashore district, have been awarded scholarships. Among them, approximately 90% are female students.
Income-Generating Programs

These include training in computer skills, skill development, cattle rearing, poultry farming, fish cultivation, small farm establishment, entrepreneurship development, and handicrafts such as block-boutique and embroidery sewing. Furthermore, the foundation organizes necessary training through the government’s Agricultural Extension Department and Youth Development Department to familiarize participants with new technologies for increasing production and creating capabilities in producing high-quality products in agriculture, agro-industry, small-scale industry, and other sectors. Additionally, the foundation has taken initiatives to establish demonstration farms for cultivating improved agricultural products by involving farmers in its own agricultural land.

Assistance for the Improvement of Life Standards of the Poor, Helpless, and Marginalized Communities
Joyful Learning and Health Protection
Education is a fundamental right of every human being. Recognizing its importance in individual and national life, education is often referred to as the backbone of a nation. Universal education is essential for building a developed and modern democratic state and is also a critical tool for sustainable development. The Constitution of Bangladesh ensures universal education and free compulsory education for all children.
However, it has been observed that children of illiterate parents are more likely to drop out of school. Due to poverty, these parents cannot afford private tutors for their children or assist them with their studies because of their own lack of literacy. Consequently, these children often fail in school, lose interest in attending classes over time, and eventually drop out unnoticed.
To address this issue, the Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Library has launched a pilot program called “Joyful Learning” at its education center. The primary objectives of this initiative are to prevent students from dropping out of mainstream education, ensure quality education, and develop skilled human resources. Additionally, the program aims to provide basic healthcare services to children and assist in addressing nutritional deficiencies. If successfully implemented on a pilot scale, the scope of this program will be gradually expanded.
Women's Socio-Economic Development and Empowerment
Women’s socio-economic development and empowerment is considered a crucial development indicator in the modern world. In developing countries like Bangladesh, women’s empowerment is not only a matter of social justice but also a prerequisite for effective economic growth. Women constitute a large portion of society, and sustainable development is impossible without ensuring their socio-economic progress. The importance of women’s empowerment in Bangladesh is growing day by day. Although women’s participation in various sectors of the economy has increased over the past few decades, they still face numerous challenges.
Poverty, lack of education, limited employment opportunities, and social and cultural barriers are the main obstacles to women’s development. However, various government and non-government initiatives are helping women advance towards educational opportunities, economic independence, and social empowerment. Women’s empowerment accelerates economic growth in a society, improves family living standards, and ensures overall national development progress.
The Arpon-Dorpon Memorial Foundation has established a livestock bank under its women’s socio-economic development and empowerment program. Through this initiative, marginalized women with experience in goat rearing are provided with one mother goat each, along with advice and support on goat rearing and medical care. This program aims to make women self-reliant, boost their confidence, and create opportunities for them to play an effective role in the national economy.
